Watershed Day at the Capitol
On Wednesday, March 29, Watershed Day at the Capitol will offer public works professionals the opportunity to learn and communicate about the needs, challenges, and opportunities in the world of watershed and flood control. The day will kick off with a panel of speakers focusing on responding to drought, contamination, and increasing water demand while striving for community restoration needs, followed by lunch in the Capitol and visits with legislators and staffers. Urban Greening Grants Available
The Urban Greening Program announced that their grant program is open. This program uses cap-and-trade funds for a variety of projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening the economy and improving public health and the environment. Applications are due May 1, 2017 and several technical workshops are available to help and provide guidance for grant applications. More information is available here.
