Law Enforcement Officers and Mental Wellness Report

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) office released a new report entitled “Preparing for the Unimaginable: How Chiefs Can Safeguard Officer Mental Health Before and After Mass Casualty Events.” This report identifies challenges faced by first responders in communities impacted by mass casualty events and contains strategies to address these challenges and minimize the adverse consequences that often occur after these tragic events. Board of State and Community Corrections Meets June 9

The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) will be holding their next Board Meeting June 9th in Sacramento. The Meeting will be held at 10:00 am at 2590 Venture Oaks Way, Room 101. Governor Brown Appoints Amy Miller to CDCR Post

Governor Jerry Brown announced the appointment of Amy Miller as the Associate Director of the Female Offender Programs at CDCR, where she has served as Associate Director of Reception Center Institutions since 2014. Ms. Miller served in several positions at California State Prison, Centinela from 2010 to 2014, including warden, chief deputy warden and associate warden and was a correctional officer there from 1999 to 2000.
