BSCC Proposition 47 Executive Steering Committee Meetings – August 10 & 11

The Board of State and Community Corrections will hold two Proposition 47 Executive Steering Committee (ESC) meetings on Wednesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 11. The meetings will be held at the City of West Sacramento – Civic Center Galleria 1110 West Capitol Avenue in West Sacramento from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Topics will include a review of the July ESC meetings and development of the framework for the Request for Proposals (RFP). There will be an opportunity for public comment prior to any action taken by the committee. Agendas for both meetings can be found here.

BSCC Committee on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Use of Force Workgroup Meeting – August 10

The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) will hold its Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Use of Force Workgroup Meeting on Wednesday, August 10. The meeting will be held at the BSCC offices at 2590 Venture Oaks Way from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Agenda topics include: known types of use of force, use of force national best practices and next steps. A copy of the agenda can be found here.

BSCC Standing Committee on Gang Issues Looking for Executive Steering Committee Members

The Board of State and Community Corrections is seeking new members for its Standing Committee on Gang Issues. The committee will act as the Executive Steering Committee (ESC) that will identify funding priorities, develop a Request for Proposal, score proposals and make award recommendations for the next cycle of the CalGRIP competitive grant program. The CalGRIP grant funds California cities that engage in local collaborative approaches to support prevention, intervention and/or suppression activities. Activities funded through CalGRIP can include reentry services, education programs, job training, family and community services, and targeted law enforcement suppression efforts.
