The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) is
requesting broad input from stakeholders about the needs and
priorities that should be addressed by the $9.6 million in
SB 823 for the Youth Programs and Facilities Grant Program.
The comments the BSCC receives will be incorporated into the
process of preparing a Request for Applications (RFA) that will
be submitted to the Board for consideration at its April 8, 2021
meeting.
The public comment period will run through Monday, March
8, 2021 and comments will be used to help formulate the
RFA. Additional information can be found

CESF Program Application Deadline Extension
Recently, CSAC sent an email highlighting outcomes from the
February 11th Board of State and Community Corrections
(BSCC) Board which included an update about the Federal
Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program
application deadline.
As a reminder, the BSCC has extended the application due date for
the CESF Program to Friday, March 12, 2021. This
non-competitive application makes $41,763,011 available to
interested counties for approaches that prevent, prepare for, and
respond to the coronavirus. As part of the award, counties must
pass-through at least 20 percent of the CESF award to
non-governmental community-based organization(s) impacted by
coronavirus and providing services in the county.
While many counties submitted applications, 33 counties didn’t
respond. The BSCC is extending the due date to March 12,
2021, to allow interested counties additional time to
apply for funding. As a reminder, this formula-based application
is only open to California counties. Additional information about
