The U.S. Economic Development Administration is currently
implementing six programs funded by the $3 billion allocated in
President Biden’s American Rescue Plan. The $1 billion
Build Back Better Regional Challenge is
EDA’s marquee program and will be granting 20-30 regions $25 -
$100 million. The Build Back Better Regional Challenge will be
executed in two phases. Phase 1, which has an October
19 application deadline, will narrow the pool from
hundreds of applicants to 50-60 finalists who will receive a
$500,000 planning grant.
Counties are invited to join Assistant Secretary of Commerce
Alejandra Y. Castillo and U.S. Department of Commerce staff this
Friday, November 1 at 2 pm. ET for a
