CAL FIRE Opens for Urban and Community Forestry Grant Applications

CAL FIRE has opened up an application period for Urban and Community Forestry Grants. Applications are due by November 29, 2018. The grants offered will include Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) funded grants and Prop. 68 funded grants. Types of projects that could be funded by these grants include:

GGRF Grants:

  • Urban Forest Expansion and Improvement
  • Urban Wood and Biomass Utilization

Prop. 68 Grants:

  • Urban Forest Expansion and Improvement
  • Urban Forest Management Activities
  • Urban Forest Education and Research

The Urban & Community Forestry grant program works to optimize the benefits of trees and related vegetation through multiple-objective projects as specified in the California Urban Forestry Act of 1978 (Public Resources Code 4799.06-4799.12).
