California Updates Guidance on Monkeypox Isolation

August 25, 2022

Last week, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released new monkeypox (MPX) home isolation guidance. While the new guidance largely aligns with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, CDPH provides additional guidance on when it is safe to resume limited activities outside the home, returning to work, and other normal activities.

CSAC will continue to work with local public health officials to seek adequate resources to support prevention and mitigation efforts. Those wanting to learn more about monkeypox transmission, symptoms, and prevention, as well as data on the number of reported cases, including demographic detail, can visit the California Department of Public Health’s webpage.
