CalOES Releases FEMA Reimbursement Guidance

April 8, 2021

The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) recently released the Project Roomkey/Housing and Homelessness COVID Response-FEMA Reimbursement Guidance document. Project Roomkey is a Non-Congregate Sheltering (NCS) program currently reserved for those persons experiencing homelessness who meet specific criteria. Public agencies such as cities, counties, state agencies, special districts, and federally recognized Indian Tribal governments are eligible to apply for Public Assistance.

FEMA is providing 100 percent federal cost-share reimbursement funding for eligible Project Roomkey activities that meet FEMA documentation requirements. The guidance document includes FEMA Public Assistance Program Project Roomkey Frequently Asked Questions, for example: Who is eligible to apply? What are eligible costs? What are ineligible costs? and How do I apply?. Additional information about the application process for the Project Roomkey/Housing and Homelessness FEMA reimbursement funding can be found here.
