Capacity and Infrastructure Transition, Expansion and Development (CITED) Initiative Round 1 Application Due September 30

September 15, 2022

Last month, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released the online application for Round 1 of the Capacity and Infrastructure Transition, Expansion and Development (CITED) Initiative. CITED is one component of the Providing Access and Transforming Health (PATH) Initiative. As a key element of CalAIM, PATH supports the expansion of capacity and infrastructure needed to implement Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports and increase access to services across the state.

Eligible applicants for CITED Round 1 funding of up to $100 million total include counties, cities, public hospitals, and community-based organizations. However, applicants must be actively contracted to provide ECM/Community Supports or have a contract with an entity, such as a Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan, to provide ECM/Community Supports. Funding awarded under CITED Round 1 may be used for an array of activities intended to ramp up ECM and Community Supports, including increasing the provider workforce, purchasing and developing administrative infrastructure, and providing upfront funding to support capacity and purchase infrastructure needed to deliver these services.

Applications must be submitted online by Friday, September 30. CITED Round 1 applicants will be notified of the status of their application in December following a two-month review period. Additional information about the initiative, including application guidance and the submission portal, can be found here.
