The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA; P.L. 117-58) was signed into law in November 2021 by President Joe Biden. In addition to providing $650 billion for existing programs, the legislation includes $550 billion for new investments in roads, bridges, public transportation, airports, water, broadband, rail, aviation, grid infrastructure, resiliency, cybersecurity, and other areas. To help counties understand these new programs, CSAC’s Washington DC team, Paragon Government Relations, has developed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: New Program Funding Guide. This guide contains details on new major federal funding opportunities that are available to county governments. For some of these programs, preliminary information is available, and more guidance will be released by federal agencies in the coming weeks and months.

An additional IIJA resource for counties is a webinar series that is being hosted by the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
