CSAC Requests Feedback on CPUC Public Safety Power Shutoff Proposed Decision

May 9, 2019

CSAC recently submitted comments to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) regarding De-Energization proceeding R.18-12-005. On April 26, the CPUC issued a Proposed Decision for these Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) de-energization procedures, which incorporated feedback from CSAC and other interested parties.

This proposed decision adopts Phase 1 Guidelines and is the first step in the development of a comprehensive set of requirements for IOUs to conduct PSPS operations. CSAC counsel has analyzed the CPUC’s Proposed Decision and created the attached memo for CSAC and other interested counties to review. CSAC requests that counties review the memo and provide specific input in the form of track changes to the document.

The deadline for the submission of comments to CSAC is May 13, COB. Please send track changed documents to Nick Cronenwett at ncronenwett@counties.org.
