CSAC is requesting feedback on the recently released draft
recommendations made by the Climate Insurance Working Group,
which was established by the Insurance Commissioner. The report
recommends actions that may be taken by communities, local and
state governments, individuals, and insurers to reduce risk and
address insurance issues impacted by climate change. The report
focuses on three key areas: wildfires, extreme heat, and
flooding. Recommendations focus on hazard mapping and disclosure,
land use and building practices, and nature-based solutions. The
working group consisted of individuals from academia, insurance,
natural resources, and think tanks across the country.
CSAC is particularly interested in informal comments regarding
the land use and building practice recommendations put forth in
