CSAC’s 126th Annual Meeting Has Memorable Beginning
CSAC’s 126th Annual Meeting, the first ever to be held virtually, kicked off on Thursday with a session hosted by CSAC President and Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett.
In addition to a welcome from Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and a special tribute to Humboldt County Supervisor and Immediate Past President Virginia Bass, the general session featured a candid conversation between Governor Gavin Newsom, CSAC President Lisa Bartlett and Executive Director Graham Knaus.
Also on Thursday, the Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee met as well as the Suburban, Rural and Urban Caucuses. On Friday, the Institute for Local Government, of which CSAC is a parent organization, is facilitating required workshops on Understanding Public Service Ethics Laws and Principles as well as Harassment Prevention Training for Supervisors and Officials.
Next week, Monday’s general session presented by Sonoma County Supervisor and CSAC 1st Vice President James Gore will include the annual CSAC Awards presentation, an association update from Executive Director Graham Knaus and an Election 2020 panel with prominent media professionals.
Throughout the rest of the conference, there will be social functions hosted by the CSAC Finance Corporation, additional Policy Committee meetings, workshops on The Intersection of the Global Pandemic and Cultural Responsiveness and Lobbying During the Coronavirus, the much-anticipated California County Roundtable session, the election and installation of 2020-21 Officers and more.
