Expanding Access to Broadband – Get Connected California Day

August 18, 2022

The California Emerging Technology Fund is hosting Get Connected California! Day on Saturday, August 27, 2022, throughout California to expand access to eligible low-income households. Information about confirmed locations and the program can be accessed at the Internet for All Now website.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is helping millions of eligible households throughout the nation save hundreds of dollars on home internet. This federally funded initiative offers a $30 monthly discount on home internet (up to $75 per month for households on qualifying tribal lands) and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a computer or a tablet.

Any household that participates in the free and reduced-price school lunch program, CalFresh or SNAP, Lifeline, the Pell Grant, WIC (Women, Infants & Children), Medi-Cal or Supplemental Security Income is eligible for the ACP benefit.

At the locations, volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help individuals complete the application onsite. Check the locations website frequently as additional sites are being added.
