The California Department of Housing and Community Development
(HCD) released draft guidelines for the Community Development
Block Grant Program (CDBG). The CDBG program provides funding
opportunities to local governments that do not participate in the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD’s) CDBG
entitlement program.
HCD is seeking feedback from stakeholders for its
CDBG draft guidelines. The draft guidelines are based on
HUD’s CDBG regulations and will replace the existing state
regulations after they are finalized.
CSAC will review the draft guidelines and provide comments. We
are interested in any feedback from counties by March 25,
2019 via email to mespinoza@counties.org. CSAC
also encourages counties to submit comments directly to HCD via
email to CDBGRedesign@hcd.ca.gov by
HCD’s March 29, 2019 deadline.
