Free Grantwriting Workshop Focusing on Disaster Recovery Funding
October 24, 2019
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published the FY19 Disaster Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity making $587 million available to eligible grantees serving communities with a presidentially declared major disaster in 2018 and floods and tornadoes in 2019. EDA disaster grants will be made by regional offices under the Economic Adjustment Assistance program, and funds can be awarded to assist a wide variety of activities related to disaster recovery, including economic recovery strategic planning grants, and public works construction assistance.
The EDA will be leading a hands-on workshop for those who wish to learn more about these grant opportunities and the submission process. These grants are only available for counties, other public agencies or tribes, institutions of higher learning, and non-profits acting in coordination with public agencies. They are not available to individuals or for-profit entities.
The workshop will be held in Chico on Tuesday, October 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required. To register, visit www.regonline.com/edaworkshop.
EDA has a long history of supporting disaster recovery and resiliency efforts. The agency’s role in disaster recovery is to facilitate the timely and effective delivery of federal economic development assistance to support long-term community economic recovery planning and project implementation, redevelopment, and resiliency.
