HCD Announces 2018 Emergency Solutions Grant Funding

June 14, 2018

The Department of Housing and Community Development announced the availability of approximately $6 million in federal ESG funds for Administrative Entities (AEs) in the Continuum of Care (CoC) Allocation, and approximately $5 million in federal ESG funds for homeless service providers applying in the Balance of State (BoS) Allocation.

Notices of Funding Availability (NOFAs) for each of these allocations are available on the ESG webpage. A list of the CoC Service Areas covered by each allocation can be found in the back of each NOFA.

The ESG Program provides funding to engage homeless individuals and families living on the street, improve the quality of Emergency Shelters for homeless individuals and families by helping to operate these shelters and by providing essential services to shelter residents; rapidly re-house homeless individuals and families; and prevent families/individuals from becoming homeless.

Applications from AEs in the CoC Allocation and homeless service providers in the BoS Allocation must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2018 delivered by private courier or U. S. Mail.

HCD is holding two webinars to discuss the NOFA with applicants:

· Administrative Entities: 9-11 AM, Wednesday, June 27. Register here.

· Balance of State: 1-3 PM, Wednesday, June 27. Register here.

Questions can be directed to Janette Schaake, HCD NOFA Representative, (916) 263 2331, or Connie Mallavia, HCD NOFA Representative, (916) 263-2711.
