Leading Local Webinar Addresses COVID-19 Rental and Mortgage Assistance
On Thursday, May 6, at 2 p.m., the Institute for Local Government will offer a webinar to share programs and tactics local governments have put in place including rental assistance, tenant protection and anti-displacement practices. The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely impacted economic opportunity and the ability for California residents (many of whom were already burdened) to afford housing costs. While the pandemic has created a number of challenges, local governments have formed partnerships and explored unique strategies to help their residents stay housed. Speakers include:
- Otto Lee, District 3 Supervisor, Santa Clara County
- Professor Brian Levin, Director of the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism, Cal State San Bernardino
- Yen Marshall, Executive Director, Asian Pacific American Public Affairs (APAPA)
- Stephanie Nguyen, Elk Grove City Councilmember & Executive Director of Asian Resources, Inc.
This webinar is part of the Institute for Local Government’s new leadership series, Tackling California’s Housing Crisis, which will provide information and best practices, facilitate discussion and answer questions to help local governments better address housing issues in our communities.
