Mental Health Services Act Reporting Bill Moves Forward

January 11, 2018

SB 688 by Senator John Moorlach would require counties to prepare Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), expenditure reports in accordance with accounting principles and submit these reports electronically and in a machine-readable format.

Senator Moorlach introduced the bill to increase the accessibility and transparency of county MHSA Revenue and Expenditure reports, which counties already compile annually. The County Behavioral Health Directors Association has been working with the Senator and is in support of the measure.

The Senate Health Committee unanimously passed SB 688 yesterday, and the bill now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee.
