NACo Resources for Child Care Stabilization and Prioritizing Infant and Toddlers

July 22, 2021

The National Association of Counties (NACo) has developed a Child Care Stabilization toolkit that can be utilized by counties as they play a significant role in the stability of and access to the child care system.

The toolkit provides an overview of the county role in child care, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the child care industry, and how counties can utilize federal policy levers to respond to the negative economic impacts of COVID-19 through targeted investments in child care. It also provides an overview of various legislative proposals aiming to stabilize the sector in the long term.

In addition to the toolkit and other child and family services work, NACo is co-hosting a webinar titled, Leveraging ARPA Funds for Infants and Toddlers through State and Local Coordination. The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 10 – 11:15 a.m. PST, and will feature city, county, and state leaders discussing strategies to leverage ARPA funds to support young children from prenatal to age three. To register, please visit the NACo website, here.
