New Criminal Justice-Mental Health Learning Sites Application Launch

January 12, 2023

CSAC would like to share that the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center is partnering with U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to select 10 to 12 programs from around the country that will highlight effective approaches from crisis response through courts, jails, probation, and community-based programs. Priority will be given to applicants that are using innovative practices and are leading the field with interventions to reduce contact with the criminal justice system and recidivism for people who are involved in the criminal justice and behavioral health systems.

If sites are interested in applying but have questions or concerns about the application process, CSG will also be hosting question and answer (Q&A) sessions on January 18 and 27 via Zoom. Information about the learning sites, the Q&A sessions, and the application can be found here: https://csgjusticecenter.org/2023/01/09/apply-now-to-join-a-national-program-for-criminal-justice-and-mental-health-learning-sites/

Additionally, if your county does not plan on applying, CSAC would love to hear about any successful programs or work being done in your county.

Lastly, interested programs should submit a completed application to Katie Herman at kherman@csg.org by January 31, 2023.
