Assembly Bill 2628 (Levine) seeks to address the “revolving door” issue of elected or appointed officials continuing to influence proceedings through other means following the end of their term. Specifically, this bill would prohibit an elected or appointed official from being employed by any board, commission or any other body for a period of one year after leaving office if they served as a member of that body as an elected or appointed official.
CSAC is seeking comments to learn what, if any, unintended consequences this prohibition could have for Supervisors or other county elected or appointed positions. Comments can be sent to Dorothy Holzem, CSAC Legislative Representative, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 916-327-7500, x515.
