RFP for Victims of Crime Act Training Grant Program Released

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) announced the release of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Victims of Crime Act Training Grant Program for fiscal year 2016-2017. The program is designed to provide one-time funding to provide training and technical assistance to Cal OES-funded victim service programs and others who work with crime victims.

The program is supported with Victim Assistance Discretionary Grant Training Program funds. Approximately $2 million is available for the VG Program for a one-time performance period beginning October 1, 2016, and ending September 30, 2018. Cal OES anticipates funding a total of four proposals for up to $500,000 each. The allocation of funding may be contingent upon the enactment of the State Budget. Cal OES anticipates selecting one proposal from each of the following categories:

  • Cultural Awareness
  • Human Trafficking
  • Trauma-Informed Care
  • Additional Victim Service Training Need

To receive funding through the VG Program, the application package must be received or postmarked by Wednesday, June 29, 2016. All questions regarding this RFP must be submitted in writing to Cindy Chapman, Federal Funds Administrator, at Cindy.Chapman@caloes.ca.gov.
