SALARY: $101,090.37 – $141,540.39 Annually, plus Benefits POSITION: Under general direction, the Arts & Culture Manager will provide leadership to initiate organizational planning of a county-wide culture and arts advocacy function within the County. This person will interface with community-based organizations, the philanthropic community, foundations, independent artists, professionals from the creative sectors, education leaders, elected officials, and local, state and federal arts advocacy organizations. The position also collaborates and informs County Executives and multi-disciplinary teams of managers, professionals, and technical staff in coordinating collaborative strategies that intersect art, culture, economic vitality, diversity, inclusivity, history, and equity. This management position is distinguished from the departmental managers by community engagement and support of county-wide culture and arts planning, strategic planning, and coordination with local agencies and organizations in planning and development, tourism, and county-wide events. The position also requires regular interface with all levels of the County organization including Executive Management and elected officials.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities can also be obtained by considerable experience working in a nonprofit arts organization, higher education, or public agency dedicated to art and/or culture advocacy. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities can also be obtained by completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Fine Arts, or a closely related field with three (3) or more years of related work experience. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Excellent written communication skills must be demonstrated. - Knowledge and experience of Arts and Culture. – Knowledge and experience with grants, government funding, and philanthropy available for Arts and Culture initiatives. – Knowledge and experience of community-wide Arts and Culture strategic planning processes. – Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
