Description:

City seeks a well-qualified, motivated Assistant City Attorney with significant land-use experience to provide legal advice, counsel, representation to the City in land use, real estate, housing and economic development. Services include drafting, reviewing contracts, ordinances, resolutions, deeds, permits, licenses, and legal documents, conducting research, interpreting and updating the City Code, and providing advice to City staff, and will provide counsel to Planning Commission, City departments, assist with enforcement of the City Code. Candidate receives general direction, supervision from City Attorney, and may provide oversight and supervision to support staff. Position is at-will that serves part of City’s management team.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and active membership, in good standing, with the California State Bar. Candidates should have at least five (5) years increasingly responsible experience as an attorney in the practice of law in California. This position requires a California Class C driver license and a satisfactory driving record, as determined by the City.
