Description:

The Assistant Director of Human Resources works in association with the Director of Human Resources to provide management direction for implementation of the Division’s programs and projects. In addition to general management responsibilities assigned by the Director of Human Resources, positions in this class generally assume responsibility for the day-to-day management, internal operational oversight, administration, and technical oversight of several functional program areas and specific activities, and act in the absence of the Director of Human Resources. This position will participate in the implementation of the new ERP module updates for Human Resources, address related challenges to recent economic downturn/COVID-19 and fires, and stays up-to-date on current HR trends and changes. Additionally, the Ideal Candidate will possess Public Sector Human Resources experience in the following areas: HR Innovation, Division Budget Management, Classification and Compensation, Federal and state Leave Management laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Experience— Eight years of increasingly responsible human resources administration experience including four years of management and administrative responsibility. Education— A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, psychology, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree is desirable. License or Certificate—Possession of a valid driver’s license.
