Description:

The Assistant Human Resources Director/Labor Relations is responsible for the Labor/Employee Relations and Organizational Learning Division for proactively negotiating and administering the City’s labor negotiations; providing assistance to departments regarding employee performance issues and disciplinary matters; investigating employee complaints; delivering professional development training opportunities for staff; administering the interactive/reasonable accommodation process; and monitoring compliance of various protected leave programs.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resource Management or a closely related field. A Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable. In addition, applicants must have 5 years of progressively responsible public sector human resources experience that includes significant experience negotiating MOU’s; managing employee relations; human resources management or organizational development/training; recruitment and selection; classification and compensation administration and 3 years supervision/management of professional level staff.
