We are currently accepting applications to fill two full-time Capital Division Manager vacancies in the General Services Department. There is one vacancy in Santa Barbara and one vacancy in Santa Maria.

The job classification for this position is Program/Business Leader – General. Reporting directly to the Capital Division Chief, the Capital Division Manager is responsible for planning, directing and managing the County’s multi-million-dollar Capital program created to support the County’s goals and priorities. The Division Manager exercises a considerable amount of independent judgment and discretion in directing staff and providing significant input and guidance to the Department Director, Assistant Director, Division Chief, and County Executive management regarding all phases of assigned projects. Qualifications:

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

1. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, engineering, architecture, planning, or a related field AND six years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in construction project management that includes two years of supervisory experience; OR

2. Ten years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in construction project management that includes two years of supervisory experience, OR

3. A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the standards listed above that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Note: A master’s degree in one of the majors listed above may substitute for one year of required experience.
