Description:

Under direction of the Community Development Director, to plan, direct, and coordinate the Building and Safety division; establish policies and procedures related to building inspection and enforcement functions; to assist with the County Stormwater Ordinance; to perform the full range of building inspection and building code enforcement duties; to develop and administer the budget.

Qualifications:

At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in construction-related inspection and/or design review and at least two (2) years supervisory or management experience.

Practical experience with principles and practices of organization administration, budgeting, and personnel management for a public agency is preferred.

Special Requirements:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California Driver’s License.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, CABO or ICC Certification as a Building Official within twelve (12) months of appointment.
