Located just north of Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, rugged and rural Sierra County (pop. 3,000) is seeking a resourceful, hands-on controller/audit professional to join the dedicated staff of this small mountain County. This is an exceptional opportunity for an outdoors enthusiast who desires a community that is nationally renowned for its mountain biking, hiking and fishing, and has an interest in the possibility of holding a County elected role in the future.

Qualifications:

Reporting to the Auditor-Treasurer-Tax Collector, the Chief Deputy provides day to day management over all Auditor and all Controller functions of the County including but not limited to: a variety of Countywide accounting and financial support functions, day to day oversight of staff, management functions such as developing and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring overall service effectiveness of the Auditor’s Office. The successful candidate will possess a combination of related education and experience in accounting/auditing/management.
