Description:

The State Controller’s Office (SCO) is looking for a new Chief to lead the State Accounting and Reporting Division. The Chief directs and manages all accounting, fiscal controls, and reporting for SCO, and ensures that related assignments meet the constitutional and statutory financial responsibilities of the State Controller. Serving as a consultant and key policy advisor, the Chief will counsel the Chief Operating Officer, the State Controller, the Legislature, Governor’s Office, and other governmental and private financial institutions regarding accounting and reporting statutes relative to the use of state and/or federal public funds.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a post or bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or related field and a valid/active Certified Public Accountancy License. With five years of experience overseeing government accounting services, the ideal candidate must be able to work effectively with others, demonstrate respect for stakeholders and exercise cooperation in all interactions through strong communication skills. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills and political acumen in a dynamic government operation. Keeping innovation in mind, the ideal candidate will bring new ideas and concepts to the team while staying abreast of new trends.
