Starting salary up to $64.13/hour ($133,847/year), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!* Permit Sonoma’s Comprehensive Planning Division is responsible for the development, improvement, and implementation of the County’s General Plan and Local Coastal Plan. To continue to develop the County’s General Plan, Permit Sonoma’s executive team is seeking a highly skilled manager with experience in creating and/or updating a County and/or City General Plan. This position is an exciting opportunity to take your next career step in land use planning and become a leading member of a dedicated team of driven policymakers.

Qualifications:

Education: Any combination of education and/or training that would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, training received at an accredited college or university or course work which includes possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with academic course work in planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, economics, environmental studies, technical writing, physical and biological sciences, physical-biological-social and human-environmental relationships, or closely related courses. Graduate coursework in planning-related and management subjects is desirable. Experience: Any combination of experience which would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, this experience would consist of at least four years of increasingly responsible experience, including project leadership, administration, management, or supervisory roles. Normally, professional planning experience, including complex planning projects, project leadership, preparation of environmental reports and supervisory roles, would provide such an opportunity.
