$154,752 annually + 2% COLA 1/4/2020

Description:

The County Counsel is an at-will executive management position that plans, directs, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the County Counsel Department, including assigned programs and functional areas that administer the legal affairs of and act as legal adviser to the Board, commissions, departments, special districts, and all County officials, including the Grand Jury. County Counsel coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the County Administrative Officer and Board of Supervisors.

Qualifications:

Five years of increasingly responsible experience as an attorney in a public agency or private employment related to County or government laws that include supervising attorneys and support staff, as well as, trial experience. Graduation from an accredited law school with a juris doctorate degree and active membership in the California State Bar Association.
