$140,029 -170,675/Annually

Description:

County Counsel serves as chief civil advisor, attorney for the county government, special districts, regional boards, commissions, and the courts; performs highly responsible professional and administrative legal work; supervises departmental professional and clerical staff. This position is an attorney with senior level managerial experience in a County Counsel or City Attorney’s Office. Expectations are that the individual will have extensive knowledge of civil, constitutional, and administrative law relating to county government operations, and the ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with the Board of Supervisors, the County Administrator, County Department Heads, and other local and state partners.

Qualifications:

Possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and five years professional legal work experience, including or supplemented by three years of practice of public law; or combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
