Under policy direction from the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, and in coordination with the County Administrator, the County Counsel directs and administers the operations of the County Counsel’s office and serves as legal advisor to the County government and its affiliated jurisdictions, commissions, and agencies.


Education: Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law. Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in a California County Counsel’s Office, California City Attorney’s Office, or other California governmental civil law practice. Experience in either private or public law must have included leadership, supervision, or management of other attorneys. Special Requirement: Active membership in the California State Bar. License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
