The Departmental Safety Coordinator will be primarily responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive safety program; coordinating safety education and training staff supporting the Facility Operations, Fleet Management, and Construction and Project Management divisions. This position will report to the Assistant Director, General Services.


A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency with an emphasis in industrial engineering, health science or occupation safety and health, or a closely related field; AND, Two (2) years of experience in the development and implementation of safety programs. Notes: Additional related experience, as described above, may substitute for the education requirement on a year- to-year basis. ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification or COSS (Certified Occupational Safety Specialist) is desirable.
