Riverside County Department of Environmental Health is currently seeking its next Deputy Director who will oversee the Environmental Protection and Oversight Division. In this role you will be responsible for establishing the annual budget, monitoring revenue/ expenditures monthly, work closely with Human Resources personnel and making recommendations as necessary to improve the Environmental Protection and Oversight Division. This assignment will also be responsible for the effective implementation of the programs overseen stated above. In this position you will be expected to work closely with fellow Environmental Health Deputy Directors and the Director to accomplish goals that the department has established. Candidates with land use, solid waste or experience at a California Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, health, business, or public administration, social work, psychology, nursing, or a related field to the assignment. License Requirements: 1. California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) 2. Valid California Driver’s License Experience: Five years of professional experience at a managerial or supervisory level in an environmental health, animal services, public health, health services, or human service agency, which must have included responsibility for directing the activities of subordinate staff, managing program budgeting, and coordinating staffing with other health, human services, environmental health, or animal services programs.
