Description:

The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) is a California state agency that licenses and regulates cannabis businesses. The DCC regulates the growing of cannabis plants, manufacturing of cannabis products, transportation and tracking of cannabis goods throughout the state, and the sale of cannabis goods. The Licensing Deputy Director role is a critical part of our larger executive team and must be strongly committed to facilitating a well-regulated, legal market through innovative policies and effective implementation. The Licensing Division is responsible for administering application review, license issuance, renewal, and modifications; providing technical assistance and support to applicants and licensees; engaging and working closely with local jurisdictions; coordinating license actions with compliance and enforcement; and providing enhanced assistance to equity applicants and licensees. The Division works in close coordination with other state and local agencies responsible for the permitting or licensing of cannabis businesses.

Qualifications:

1. Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs 2. Experience leading and working with diverse, professional high achieving teams 3. Experience administering program or project resources (human resources, contracts, and budgets) 4. Experience collaborating and working with diverse stakeholders on complex regulatory issues
