Description:

Kings County Community Development Agency is offering an exciting opportunity in the Planning Division as a Deputy Director to assist in the oversight of programs, activities, services and staff. This at-will position reports to the Director of Community Development and assists in assigned areas of the Agency, including land use development, general plan administration, CDBG grant administration, long range planning, GIS services, the Planning Commission, and the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). One immediate vacancy in the Community Development Agency. Potential future vacancies for this position may be filled from the eligible list to be established. The anticipated life of the eligible list is six months.

Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree in Planning, Public Administration, or closely related field is desirable. Experience: Four years of professional experience as a Planner with Kings County or an equivalent position with another public agency, which must include at least one year in a supervisory capacity. License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Special Requirements: Ability to: work irregular hours as necessary; travel within and outside the County.
