Description:

The Department of Regional Planning for the County of Los Angeles is recruiting for two Deputy Directors. The first is in the Current Planning Division and the second is in the Advance Planning Division. The ideal candidate for each will be a confirmed leader with strong experience regarding the Coastal Act, updating general plan elements, zoning codes and specific plans, engaging the community and active stakeholder groups, and working in a dynamic environment. The successful person will have the necessary management and leadership to direct and guide the Division’s staff in developing and implementing operational efficiencies, thereby improving customer service.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design or a closely related field and five years’ progressively responsible experience in city, county, or regional planning within the State of California. One year of experience must have included responsibility for formulating policy and in assigning and evaluating, through section heads and subordinate staff, work related to land use planning, transportation policy, zoning administration or subdivision administration for a city or other geographic region with a population of at least 50,000 residents within the State of California.
