The County of Santa Clara, Behavioral Health Services Department is looking for an experienced servant-leader who will lead the Department in its administrative and programmatic operations. The Director is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating administrative and professional staff that administer comprehensive programs for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental illness, substance abuse, and co-occurring conditions.
A qualified candidate would typically possess education and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, behavioral health sciences, clinical psychology, social services or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years recent progressive management level experience providing mental health, alcohol, drug and/or behavioral health services; two (2) years which should involve administration of budget and fiscal activities, personnel, clinical services, contract support and other administrative/line functions within a large public or private health agency.
