Salary:

$152,110 – $184,891/annual base with cafeteria plan benefit package

Description:

San Joaquin County is recruiting for a highly experienced Director of Community Development to lead the daily activities of the Community Development Department. An ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership experience and will possess extensive public-sector, development services-related management experience in comprehensive planning and community development. The incumbent is expected to model a strong work ethic and leadership skills, including accountability for oneself and others. This is an at-will position, exempt from the San Joaquin County Civil Service system and appointed by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors.

Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications are desirable; all interested candidates are encouraged to apply:

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in urban or regional planning, business or public administration, architecture, engineering, or a related field
AND
Experience: Seven years of public-sector, development services-related management work, including at least four years in urban or regional planning.
AND
License: Requires possession of a valid California driver’s license.
