Description:

The Director is responsible for the management and administration of Department of Health and Social Services. Responsibilities include the management and operations of social services (in Public Assistance, MediCAL, CalFresh, CalWORKS, APS, CPS and IHSS) and all welfare and assistance programs provided by the County through Social Services. The Director is responsible for the management and operation of the public health services (including MCAH, WIC, Immunization, Infectious Disease, Family Planning, STD’s, Tobacco, Oral Health) and all public health programs.The Director oversees the environmental health and associated regulatory functions undertaken by the County. The Director is responsible for day-to-day operations, supervision, administration, budget development, and asset management. The Director supervises the work of professional and administrative staff assigned to the respective program areas and activities to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to public health, social service, welfare programs and environmental health matters.

Qualifications:

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field required, five years of progressively responsible management experience in a public or non-profit agency providing health and social services and significant supervisory responsibility over professional staff is expected. A Master’s degree is highly desirable.
