Description:

This unclassified position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for directing the activities of the Office of Strategy and Intergovernmental Affairs. The Director works closely with the Board of Supervisors and County executives to analyze proposed state and federal legislation, assess the potential impacts on the County of San Diego, and coordinates advocacy efforts on behalf of the County with other government agencies.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced legislative and government relations executive who has a thorough understanding of San Diego County government, including operations, fiscal, legal, and programmatic relationships with other government entities.

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree AND ten (10) years of management level experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the classification.
