Salary:

$131,753 – $160,145.44 Annually DOE

Description:

The Director for the Office of Veteran’s Affairs is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the program that provide aid and assistance to veterans and their dependents in obtaining the rights and benefits provided by Federal, State and local legislation. Typical tasks for this role would include
acting as the County Veterans Services Officer; staff training and supervision; developing and evaluating goals, programs and projects related to Office of Veteran’s Affairs; and fostering administrative partnerships with community organizations and other County departments or agencies.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidate typically possess a degree from an accredited college or university with major work in Business or Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology or a closely related field. Candidates must have three (3) years of full-time experience counseling veterans on a variety of rights and benefits in a recognized Veterans Service Office of a Federal, State or County government entity, or a recognized public or private veterans service organization, of which at least one (1) year of full-time experience which must have included supervisory responsibilities. Pursuant to the California Military & Veterans Code, must be a United States armed forces veteran.
