Director, Prevention, Diversion, and Re-entry

The County of San Diego is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated leader to fill an immediate opening for Director, Prevention, Diversion and Re-entry. This executive management position is assigned to the Public Safety Group (PSG) Executive Office. Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (General Manager of PSG), this position is responsible for strengthening prevention, diversion, and reentry services for adults and at-risk youth and/or justice system involved individuals, and for providing administrative leadership and direction for the integration of programs and initiatives with the goal of reducing in-custody populations and improving justice system outcomes. The selected candidate will have strong skills in communication, policy development and analysis. They will successfully interact with elected officials and their staff, stakeholders and community partners with diverse viewpoints. Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the classification. Experience must include four (4) years of management level experience and at least one year of experience. A master’s degree or higher may substitute for a total of one (1) year and cannot be applied to the required one year of supervision.
