Description:

Director also serves as the County Road Commissioner. Responsibilities include construction, operation, and maintenance of public works infrastructure, county roads, town water systems, and airports dispersed over a huge geographic area. The Director is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and will oversee a 60-person department and 23 budget units totaling nearly $18 million.

Qualifications:

This position requires a minimum of six or more years of professional experience in a civil engineering and public works environment including at least five years at a management level. An educational background equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with a valid California Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
