Description:

The County of Fresno is offering a rewarding and challenging career opportunity for an experienced Social Services professional with strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to build relationships, collaborate, creatively problem-solve, and create a vision for the future to serve as the Director of Social Services. The Director of Social Services, reporting to the County Administrative Officer, determines policy, develops programs and formulates operational objectives within local, state and federal legal requirements, County ordinances, policies and procedural guidelines.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system.

Experience: Five (5) years of full-time, paid management work experience equivalent to a deputy director with direct oversight of large scale social services programs. Prior experience as director of a social services agency is desirable. Substitution: Possession of a master’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

License: Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, may be required.
