Under administrative direction of the Board of Supervisors, CEO and the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Merced County, serve as Executive Director for the WDB, plan, organize, manage, direct, and supervise the multiple and diverse activities, programs and services of the Merced County Workforce Investment Department, including fiscal management, department personnel management, program planning and evaluation, and public and political relations; meet and consult with Federal, State and County officials, business organizations, education and training providers, local agencies, citizens groups and community organizations regarding the design, development and partnership agreements of job training programs; and perform related work as required.
Four years of demonstrated and increasingly responsible
managerial, supervisory and administrative experience in the
fields of economic development or workforce development.
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a major in Public Administration, Management, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or a closely related business or social science field. (Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
Possess a valid California driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain.
