Description:
POSITION: The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), within the County Executive Office, serves to advance DEI goals across the County government through collaboration, policy change, inclusive engagement, and capacity building. Working under the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, the DEI Manager for Youth Equity will work across social sector issues. The position is responsible for helping to understand core issues contributing to the current inequities, by selecting effective research tools and methods, collecting valuable information, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to uncover critical insights. The position prepares for and participates in project meetings, creates presentations and documents designed to support the collaborative partners through an evolution of justice, anchored in a deep understanding of structural racism to help them share power, center community, and make collective, data-informed, value-driven decisions to advance the well-being of youth, families, and communities of color.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities can be obtained by the following: A bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, criminal justice, health administration, economics, social work, psychology, social sciences, or an ethnic-studies applied research-related discipline and two (2) years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion or social justice related work. Additional experience may substitute for the educational degree on a year-for-year basis. NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS: • Some experience with supervision DESIRED: • Experience working with and understanding disaggregated data • Experience developing equity-informed, community-centered solutions and participating in diverse collaborative partnerships
